Because God is the cause.
Today chruch rox. Usually, when i go church, i will only remember and practice about 10% of what what they teach, i wont get anything. But today, when i reached my church, i knew that i would absorb everything. And i did. Remember these 2 passages.
"And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.
"This, then, is how you should pray: 'Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.' " Matt 7-13 NIV
"Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like a man who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. But the man who looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues to do this, not forgetting what he has heard, but doing it—he will be blessed in what he does." James 1:22-25 NIV
Do not forget what the bible is for. The way society relates bible to now, is like a fictional book, a storybook, a textbook, or just, a very thick book that is impossible to finish. But do not let all these hinder you. The bible is for you to read God's word and follow it. As said in James, when you read God's word. you are like reflecting yourself in the mirror, remembering all your facial features. After you read them, you dont forget them.
"I am the door; if anyone enters through Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture." John 10:9 NIV
When you read God's word, remember it. And when you pray, the reason of why you have to persistently pray and pray and pray is NOT for your voice to be heard. God is not a search engine. The reason for it to be heard is for you to show your need and sincerity. God knows all your needs even before you asked him. And it is up to you to be humble enough to tell him that you need them. Through prayer, you are trusting God, you are humbling yourself. You express your needs to God. You show that you persist and you need them. God loves you unconditionally no matter what you had done. He knows your needs. And he WANTS to establish an intimate realtionship with you. He loves it when you tell him how's your day, how sad or happy you are. He loves it when you tell him how much you want your computer game, how much you love him. He loves it when you ask him what to do to score well for the exams, and when you ask him whether you should buy an ipod or a zen touch. Prayer is a 2 way relationship. It is not just you talking to God. It is God talking to you as well! He answers your prayers in many ways. He gives you visions, dreams, impressions. Of course, sometimes he will TALK audibly to you. He can give you a verse in a scripture, and all these "coincidental" experiences. But beware. Do not ask man, why these happen, for they would only give scientific explanations by logic. These are the way God answers prayers. What can science explain about God?
How can science explain the empty tomb? How can science explain the healing of Cancer within 1 minute? How can science explain the healing of the lame, just by words? How can science explain the hundreds of martys who die each day for the testimony of the Lord Jesus Christ? How can science explain the laughter and the tears that flow for 2 hours from a person who is overcome by the holy spirit? How can science explain the raising of the dead? How can science explain the healing of the blind and deaf, just by words? All these are still happening TODAY. Can science explain them?
Never, could they.
Because God is the cause. And science is NOT God.
