What that minds, what is love.
When is the last time u broke up a friendship with your friend because there is something, or some habit that he or she possess, which irks you? When is the last time you shun a friend, because there is something that u don't like about him or her, after he or she tells you in a friendship?
Think about it. No man is perfect. Jesus died for every single soul of us.
Love is what that mends all faults, melts all hatred. Don't break up a friendship, just because your friend is a lesbian, or just because he is gay, or smoker, drug addict. These are somethings you don't know about your friend, until u came to this stage of friendship. Of course being a gay, smoker, drug addict, drinker, IS a BIG deal, but that does not give you the passport to abandon that friendship bond you have, to break any relations with him or her.
You job as a friend, is to help him. Pull him out of that bondage, and get him out of the troubles that he is facing now. Your job is not to make that guy feel less loved! You have to love that person, and help him in his problems. How could you discard that love, which is formed, because of something that you found out? I am talking about friendship. Do you know if you call that guy "hopeless", you are saying indirectly that God isn't powerful enough to change him?
As a friend, christians, love them. Help them outa their problems. Look at yourself, what you used to be. Christ still died for you as he died for them! Every single one of them he died for and he loves every one of us just as we are, unconditionally, no matter what we did, no matter what we do, what we have done, regardless of out culture, background, color, tongue, sex, habits. He still love them the same as the magnitude of love he has for you. Show God's love. Trust God. I remind you, DON'T TAKE THINGS INTO YOUR OWN HANDS. It has a very high chance to screw up, and i can testify that. Commit them to God, trust God. If you do, the battle is won.
Trust God. Ask him for that wisdom, and ask him to show you how to help that guy. He WILL show you. For what reason did he not want that guy to change? For every reason he wants him to! Face that trouble with determination, to fight for Christ. To change that guy, to set him free from that problem. Imagine that everlasting gratefulness he will have for you and God!
